Roberto Gavald贸n聽was a聽Mexican聽film director. Eight of Gavald贸n's films were featured on the list聽100 Best Movies of the Cinema of Mexico. His 1958 film聽Ash Wednesday聽was entered into the聽8th Berlin International Film Festival聽and his 1959 film聽Beyond All Limits聽was entered into the聽following years festival.聽His 1960 film聽Macario聽was nominated for an聽Academy Award聽for聽Best Foreign Language Film, but did not win.
